Here is what I do
I paint. I work as both a freelance illustrator and a freelance artist, and I love to paint, draw, doodle, you name it, just hand me that pencil. I'm based in Cambridge UK and received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art with Art History from Aberystwyth University in deepest darkest Wales, where I had a great time learning to love watercolours and hanging out by the sea.
I've been drawing since I figured out how to hold a crayon, and it has always been assumed I would grow up to become a mad painting lady living in an attic. In a slight detour, I also work as a professional belly dance performer and instructor, so when I am not painting or drawing stuff, I'm probably doing that.

Illustrator
I work mainly in watercolour with added mixed media excitement - pencils, collage, acrylic and inks. I love creating juicy paintings and illustrations full of super decorative details inspired by exotic cultures and art history. I enjoy using metallic ink at every rational opportunity. I'm crazy about mythology and folklore, so I mainly paint fairy tales, fairies, mythology, gods, goddesses and anything with a mermaid in it. After almost studying Zoology at university, I try to include as many animals, plants and fishes as I can in my work.
One day I shall be commissioned to illustrate a book all about and only about mermaids, and it shall be glorious.

Artist
My personal art is whatever I like best at the moment. Still it tends to fit into a couple of categories - mermaids, portraiture, fairy tales and goddess artwork. We don't move very far away from those guys here.
Mermaid symbolism and mythology completely fascinates me, and I love the ocean and the seaside. As a baseline, my mermaids tend to be beautiful, heavily tattooed and pretty bad-ass, but sometimes they are not. I love creating custom mermaid portrait art for clients. Love it.
I paint a lot of Goddess-related art work - when I was at school and uni I loved the artwork of Jonathan Earl Browser and Foosia Miller, and I wanted to paint goddesses and female archetypes because they deeply inspired me. However, I wasn't quite brave enough to bring something quite that personal to the university art table, so I didn't. Now in the big wide world, if it's what I want to paint, I shall damn well paint it.
A lot of my goddess paintings tend to be related to sea goddesses. How curious.
